Add & Manage Clients

Modified on Fri, 30 Oct at 10:18 AM

Maintain a directory of the customers your company works with, such as general contractors, clients and project owners. Each customer entry stores the customer's point of contact, phone number, email and address, so your team can find the right contact quickly and everyone works from the same details.

Use the links below to jump to the section you need help with:

The Customers screen

Ensure you're in the 'Customers' screen. If not,

  1. Click the logo at the top-left to return to your portfolio console if you are in a different module.
  2. Click 'Company' at the top of the portfolio console.
  3. Click 'Customers' on the left.

The 'Customers' screen lists all customers added to your company, with their details:

  • Customer Name – The name of the customer's business.
  • Contact Name – The person to contact at the customer.
  • Phone – The contact's phone number, shown with the country code.
  • Email – The contact's email address.
  • Address – The customer's location, for example San Diego, CA.
  • Actions – The three-dot menu at the end of each row that lets you edit or delete the customer.

Search, Filter, and Sorting Options

  • Click the magnifying glass icon and use the 'Search' box to find a customer using any value from the table as the search criteria.
  • Click any column header to sort the table in ascending or descending order based on that column's data.
  • Click the funnel icon to filter the list. See Filter Options in List Views.
  • Click the layers icon to create nested groups of entries. See Group and Organize Items in a List View.
  • Click the cog wheel icon at the top right to adjust the display density and to customize the display and order of the columns. See Customize Columns in List Views.

Download as Excel Sheet

Click the 'Download' icon at the top right to save a local copy of the list in Excel format for sharing and record-keeping. See Download List Views and Logs in Excel Format for more details.

Print or Save as PDF

Click the 'Print' icon (printer) at the top right to print the current table or save it as a PDF. The output reflects the table as it is currently displayed, including any search, filters, grouping and column changes you have applied.

Customers Added Automatically from Estimates

Not every customer in this list is added manually. When a new estimate is uploaded while bidding for a new project, and the estimate names a customer that is not yet in this directory, Linarc can add that customer to the list automatically after the project manager who uploads the estimate confirms.

These customers appear in the list like any other customer. Details such as the contact person, phone number and email address are taken from the estimate. You can update these details by selecting 'Edit' from the 'Actions' menu. See Edit a Customer below.

Add a Customer

To add a new customer

  1. Ensure you're in the 'Customers' screen.
  2. Click 'Add Customer' at the top right to open the 'Add Customer' window.

  1. Enter the details. All fields marked with an asterisk (*) are required:
    • Customer Name – Enter the name of the customer's business.
    • Contact Name – Enter the name of the person to contact at the customer.
    • Phone – Select the country code (US by default), then enter the phone number. This field is optional.

    • Address / Location – Enter the customer's street, city and state, for example San Diego, CA.
  2. Click 'Save'.

The new customer appears in the list.

Edit a Customer

You can update the details of an existing customer at any time, for example when a contact person, phone number or address changes.

To edit a customer

  1. Ensure you're in the 'Customers' screen.
  2. Click the three-dot icon in the 'Actions' column of the customer and select 'Edit'.
  3. Update the details as needed. The fields are the same as those in Add a Customer above, and all fields marked with an asterisk (*) are required.

  1. Click 'Save'.

The list shows the updated details.
